Character Hickory In-stock Stair Riser Details

The Hardwood Lumber Company now offers a few select wood species stair treads and risers that are in stock and ready to ship. Red Oak is a very popular type of wood characterized by reddish brown heartwood and lighter sapwood. It stains well and is a hard, porous wood with an open grain.

Hard Maple is a strong, durable hardwood with a light, creamy color and fine, uniform grain, often used for furniture, flooring, and cabinetry.
